Charming historical character, but noisy air conditioning disturbed my sleep.

The staff were exceptional, making us feel like we were the only ones in the hotel, and the location was ideal for family adventures. the room had a fantastic view and was quite spacious, giving the kids room to breathe.

It was just a commendable fit for shopping in Dorchester with excellent value for money. The bed was very comfortable, which was a nice surprise. Request a room away from the kitchen exhaust to avoid morning noise.

First impressions bring a rather dark and dismal feel-overpowering dark paintwork and low lighting might create a moody ambience, but it felt more oppressive than atmospheric. The room's temperature control could use some work. On a hot day, it was stifling without air conditioning, and the sash window wouldn’t stay open. Noisy disturbances from below, and the shower’s water drainage left something to be desired with a pesky, small hand basin. The menu lacked variety, especially vegetarian options, which could disappoint those with specific dietary needs.
